On May 10, 2024 I received the first New England School Communicator of the Year Award - an honor I don’t take lightly. It was a beautiful capstone to six years of my professional life, six years of creating something from nothing, six years of deep community connection, six proud years that I approached with passion.

A Story, a Reaction, and Finally a Question… /
Attending the premiere for a short film produced by two Northeastern students prompted me to post this blog - one I was already mapping out in my head. I can’t be the only person to utilize music as a means of emotional connect or support to get through the difficult time of a layoff and job hunting. I’ve been living and breathing FPS since March of 2018. I’ve been so fortunate to have a job I love - where my skill set marketing and communications could be utilized to support and benefit my community while shining a light on the amazing things that public schools have to offer. Unfortunately, my time with FPS is coming to an end by June 30th.
I committed to learning, leading and growing in my field and truly thought I would retire here so I am sad to not continue in my role. As I prepare to move on, I wanted to share this letter with my fellow community members.
